Coatigans and Longline Cardigans

A coatigan is a long, coat-length cardigan worn open as outerwear over a jumper, shirt or dress. This page collects the longline and coatigan cuts held across the women's knitwear range, so standard hip-length cardigans stay on the ordinary cardigan pages rather than appearing here twice.

Thirty-six longline and coatigan styles are stocked, from $99 to $499 AUD across 71 colourways, from Bella, Bridge & Lord, Fields and the Knit-On house label. Eight are merino and cashmere blends and 35 are cut for women.

Length is what changes the garment: the same wool and merino used across the knitwear range, cut to coat length so it layers over rather than under. Merino brings softness and warmth without weight, which keeps a full-length knit wearable rather than bulky.

Is wool warmer than merino? Medium weight wool gives warmth, durability and a substantial knit; merino is the choice when something softer and lighter is wanted.

Will it itch? House-brand knitwear is usually superfine 18.5 micron Australian merino, which is soft and comfortable to wear.

How do I wash it? Follow the care instructions on the garment and wash gently.

The broader ranges are Women's cardigan and Women's wool. Compare with Women's Wool Cardigans and Cashmere Cardigans. Three to look at first: the Long Coatigan, the Longline Cardigan with High Side Splits and the Bridge & Lord Long Line Rib Trim Cardigan.
